Cocktails in the City returns to shake up Edinburgh

October 17th, 2016 | Posted in:

Cocktails in the City is returning to Edinburgh next week for a two-night event showcasing 18 of the capital’s best cocktail bars – the most to ever be featured at the festival.

The public event aimed at cocktail lovers will be held at Mansfield Traquair on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th October.

Around 1,500 people are expected to enjoy over 4,500 drinks shaken, stirred and poured by staff from local cocktail bars, including Panda & Sons, Heads & Tales, Treacle, The Voodoo Rooms and newcomers Bryant & Mack, Nightcap, The Voyage of Buck and Badger & Co.

Each participating venue will have its own pop-up bar to showcase its signature drinks and the art of cocktail making. Every bar will also create a unique cocktail inspired by ‘A Taste of Edinburgh’, which draws on the city’s history, heritage or local produce.

Event Organiser, Tabara N’Diaye, said, “Every year we challenge ourselves to build on previous festivals and make each event even better than the one before.

“This year we’re delighted to welcome the highest number of bars we’ve ever had at Cocktails in the City Edinburgh.

“Many of these bars are new to the city which makes it a great opportunity to check out the new talent on the block as well as sampling a real taste of Edinburgh with the incredible cocktails on offer.”

Additional entertainment on offer includes an Alice in Wonderland live escape game, an interactive cocktail masterclass, and a resident DJ will provide the soundtrack to the night.

Tickets cost £12 and include one welcome cocktail. They can be booked at www.cocktailsinthecity.co.uk
