Wm Mortons buys Inverarity Vaults

Wholesalers Wm Morton has revealed that they have acquired Inverarity Vaults, in a deal that was concluded on Friday (1st July).  Although no price was revealed, the deal will bring Wm Morton’s turnover to around £50m.  Says Sales Director John Gilligan, “This is an exciting deal. It’s great that two private Scottish companies have come together and that Inverarity has not been swallowed up by a national company.”

It’s the first time that Wm Morton have made an acquisition of this size, and the deal includes the retail outlet on Glasgow’s Bath Street, its online site, and wholesale wine and whisky business. Hamish Martin will be joined the new set up, as will all other Inverarity staff.
