Man dies at Glenfiddich Distillery

Brian Ettles, a team leader at Glenfiddich’s Dufftown plant, has died. Newspaper reports suggest he was found dead in a 16ft distillery vat filled with water and yeast at the weekend. The distillery was closed yesterday (Monday 9th January) as a mark of respect. Brian, who was only 46, had worked at the distllery for 22 years.
William Grant & Sons’ group operations director Bill White said, “Our heartfelt thoughts, condolences and sympathy go to Brian’s family, friends and colleagues, and to those who worked so closely with him during his 22 years’ service.”

Grampian Police have said that his death was not being treated as suspicious.
