Putechan Hotel opens

Putechan Holdings Ltd unveiled its 13-room Putechan Hotel in Bellochantuy, Argyll, last month following an £800k refurbishment. The hotel, formerly The Hunting Lodge, was closed for a year for the refurbishment. Office Manager Louise Howden told DRAM, “The entire hotel has been refurbished in a cool, contemporary boutique hotel style, with a mixture of greys and other muted tones. This included all 13 rooms, the Bellochantuy Suite, a wedding venue, and the 40-cover restaurant.” Putechan Holdings is run by two married couples, Mr and Mrs Andrew Groom, and Mr and Mrs Colin McCartney. This is both couples’ first foray into the hotel trade. Andrew Groom comes from an event management background, and Mr McCartney, asbestos removal.
