Classic coffee liqueur relaunched in style

A BARTENDER’S favourite has been relaunched into the UK drinks market and returns with a bang, having scooped a gold in the Drinks International Cocktail Challenge.

Toussaint Coffee Liqueur returns to the UK market with a new-look bottle and improved recipe after first being launched in the 1970s in Haiti by Anker Horn.

Creator, Anker said he was delighted by the relaunch and the return of the drink to the UK market.

He added, “I really look forward to seeing it grow again. I was originally inspired by the wonderful coffee and exciting story behind Haiti’s hero, Toussaint L’Ouverture and am happy Quintessential Brands is carrying on developing the brand I began.”

The Quintessential Brands owned brand is made with with high quality Arabica coffee beans and aged Caribbean rum, and will be distributed via Marblehead Brand Development.

The winning cocktail by Marblehead’s Nicci Stringfellow is called L’Ouverture and to make it you’ll need: 35ml Toussaint, 15ml Martini Rosso, two dashes lemon bitters. Stir and serve up in a chilled two ounce apéritif glass and garnish with lemon twist.
