New owner set to boost reputation of Royal Deeside’s Boat Inn

THE Boat Inn in Royal Deeside is under new ownership after a £450,000 finance package from Santander Corporate and Commercial allowed Eileen Haywood to take over the hotel.

That investment will see a facelift to the iconic venue, ocated on the banks of the River Dee at Aboyne. The restaurant has an established reputation for its high quality food, whilst the hotel comprises six modern, ensuite bedrooms.

New owner, Eileen said the refurbishment would enhance the “natural beauty” of the venue.

She added, “I’m delighted at the purchase and excited by the opportunities this opens up. This is a beautiful region and it is the ideal location for a beautiful country hotel. I am looking forward to giving the hotel some of its own character and raising the standards, and profile of the accommodation to match that of the restaurant.”

The hotel has popular outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, hill walking and skiing nearby. Situated just 30 miles from Aberdeen, the venue is a popular destination for diners and previously won a Taste of Scotland Award.

Eileen, who has over ten years experience in the hospitality sector, said she would work with the head chef enhance the restaurants reputation.
