There was excitement aplenty at the Glenturret Distillery as The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to open their new-look visitor attraction, which recently announced the completion of a £250,000 investment in its visitor areas and cafe. The distillery, which also houses ‘The Famous Grouse Experience’ is Scotland’s oldest and most visited.
After the opening ceremony the couple, also known as The Earl and Countess of Strathearn, went on to enjoy a tour of the distillery, including a sampling session of The Famous Grouse range, before bottling the very first ‘Bottle Your Own’ Glenturret whisky.
Stuart Cassells, General Manager of The Famous Grouse Experience, said of the visit, “With such strong links to this area through their Scottish titles, we couldn’t think of anyone more perfectly placed to open our new-look visitor areas. All the staff here at the Experience won’t be forgetting this day anytime soon!”
