Glasgow’s Howlin’ Wolf has been announced as a finalist for the Desperados New Bar of the Year prize at the 2014 DRAM Scottish Licensed Trade Awards, which take place at The Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on Monday July 7th.
The Desperados New Bar of the Year award recognises venues that bring fresh vitality to the Scottish on-trade, and demonstrate a commitment to quality and an environment that oozes appeal.
Having opened on Bath Street earlier in the year, Howlin’ Wolf has quickly established itself as one of the city’s best late night venues. Owned by the same operators as Slouch, Howlin’ Wolf brings the same blend of quality music in a chilled-out setting, and the venue made a big impression on DRAM’s judges.
The awards, dubbed the licensed trade ‘Oscars,’ are organised by licensed trade magazine, DRAM. Now in their 19th year, they are the longest-established awards of their kind in Scotland, recognising excellence in Scotland’s bar, restaurant and hospitality industries.
