Clarks on Lindsay Street in Dundee has been announced as a finalist for the Kopparberg Independent Bar of the Year prize at the 2014 DRAM Scottish Licensed Trade Awards, which take place at The Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow on Monday July 7th.
The Kopparberg Independent Bar of the Year seeks to recognise Scotland’s top independent bar. The DRAM judges were looking for a bar that has brought fresh vitality to the on-trade, and has demonstrated creative forward-thinking and an inclination to think outside the box when it comes to developing the business. Good customer service and an excellent range of products were also essential.
Clarks on Lindsay Street is a contemporary bar with traditional values, and a tremendous addition to Dundee’s late night bar scene. In the short time since opening the bar has already established itself as one of the city’s most vibrant live music venues, and our judges were blown away by the atmosphere and service when they visited.
The awards, dubbed the licensed trade ‘Oscars,’ are organised by licensed trade magazine, DRAM. Now in their 19th year, they are the longest-established awards of their kind in Scotland, recognising excellence in Scotland’s bar, restaurant and hospitality industries.
