Gordon & MacPhail profits rise by 24%

Gordon & MacPhail, the Scotch whisky distiller and distributor, has reported a 24% increase in annual pre-tax profits lifting its annual turnover to £24.7m.
Export sales rose 20 % to £6.7m in the 2014 year to February 28. UK sales rose 12.8% to £18.05m.
The company, which trades as Speyside Whisky Distributors, acquired the Benromach Distillery in Forres in 1993 and said sales of the Benromach single malt had increased by 27.5% in the year, however no financials were provided.
Gordon & MacPhail’s pre-tax profits rose £3.24m while gross margins rose to 33.3%.
The company’s full-year accounts show it cut net debt down from £805,734 to £44,083 in the 2014 financial yearm and reported its net assests at year end were up as £22.19m.
Speyside Whisky Distributors currently employs 138 people.
