Greene King’s latest offer for the Spirit Pub Company, has been accepted by management. The £774m takeover offer from Greene King consists of a mixture of cash and shares. Greene King, which also owns BelhavenBrewery and Belhaven Pubs, has an estate which stretches to 1,900 pubs and restaurants. Following the completion of the deal Greene King will have 3,000 pubs. The deal still requires shareholder approval.
