Smith & Gertrude, a new cheese and wine bar, is due to open next month in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. The new Hamilton Place bar will pair fine wines with matching cheeses as well as serving a selection of small batch gins and craft beers. Run by husband and wife team, Amy and Duncan Findlater, the new venue has been inspired by their travels.
Duncan told DRAM, “The idea basically started when I travelled all over the place starting in the States and then in Australia for a while. Food pairing was such a common thing everywhere, especially with food and wine. There’s a big culture of independent places with specialised menus.”
