Gilligan steps back in at Tennent’s

John Gilligan
John Gilligan, former MD of Tennents, has stepped back in to lead the Wallaces TCB on-trade sales team, following the news that Matt Munro, Sales Director for On-trade has left.
Matt, who moved across to Wallaces TCB after Tennents bought Wallaces Express, was appointed to his role by Brian Calder, former CEO, who left the company in the summer.  John announced last year he was stepping down as MD to work part-time and scale back his workload, ahead of retirement.  But obviously that plan is now on hold as he and new MD Alastair Campbell, seek a replacement for Matt Munro.
A Wallaces TCB spokesperson, “Matt Munro, Sales Director for On Trade, has decided to pursue his career outside of Wallaces TCB with immediate effect. We wish to thank Matt for his contribution to the business and for his help in integrating the Scotland sales team, and wish him every success for the future.
“We’re pleased to announce that John Gilligan will be leading our sales force for the next few months until such time as we are able to appoint a replacement. John is a well-known and respected member of the team having previously served as Managing Director of Tennent Caledonian Breweries.
“We are actively recruiting for the position of On Trade Sales Director and will make an announcement in due course.”
This now means that Chris Cosh, Procurement Director, is the only member of the former Wallaces Express management team, still in situ at Wallaces TCB.
Meanwhile former Wallaces TCB Sales Director for the Off-trade, Jim Young, who left in August, has joined the Manorview Leisure Group. Manorview boss Steve Graham told DRAM, “Jim’s remit is to help me grow the entire Manorview business. I am delighted that he has come on board as a director of the company.”
