Conviviality bolsters board with two appointments

Jennifer Laing

Conviviality Plc has appointed Jennifer Laing and Mark Aylwin to its board. Jennifer joins as a non-executive director, and Mark joins as managing director of Conviviality Direct.

Jennifer is currently Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Premier Foods plc, where she has been for four years. She was also – until May this year – a Non-Executive Director of the Board of InterContinental Hotels Group. She has recently become a Trustee of the IHG Foundation, an independent charity that works to set the foundations for stronger, healthier, more prosperous communities around the world.

Jennifer spent 16 years with Saatchi & Saatchi, leaving in 2000 when she was Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of North America

Mark joined Conviviality in January 2016, following the acquisition of Matthew Clark where he was Managing Director. He has worked in the food and drinks industry for over 35 years, holding senior positions with a range of organisations including Booker Group Plc, Blueheath Plc, Safeway Plc and Musgrave Group.

David Adams, Chairman of Conviviality, said: “I am delighted to welcome both Jennifer and Mark to our Board. Jennifer’s in-depth knowledge of branding, marketing and advertising, as well as her experience on the board of a global hotel group with a large franchisee base, further diversifies the Board’s skill-set. Mark has been a great addition to the management team since he joined Conviviality in January 2016 and I look forward to continuing to benefit from his experience as the Group develops.”

Conviviality purchased Bibendum last week in a deal thought to be worth £60 million.
