Have you heard?


Fergus McVicar’s as-yet-unnamed restaurant in the former Old Salty’s premises in Finnieston looks likely to open at the end of July, after extensive building work. The kitchen for the premises is going to be open plan, and will be located behind the bar. He has also, it is rumoured, lured a head chef from one of the restaurants run by celebrated Israeli restaurateur, Yotam Ottolenghi, to head up its kitchen. Fergus was reluctant to confirm all the details but he did tell DRAM,  “It is going to be very different in style to the other places I’ve done. I’ve been talking about diner/bar style, but I’m actually thinking more diner than bar.” Fergus also owns Chinaski’s in North Street and Tabac off Buchanan Street.
