The Scottish Licensed Trade Benevolent Society,The BEN, has raised £15,000 thanks to a day at the races in Ayr.
The event, sponsored by Tennent Caledonian Breweries, saw 200 guests enjoy a day of high-octane racing at Ayr Racecourse as they raised money for the charity.
The new funds will be used to support The BEN’s services. This includes the recently launched Glass Half Full campaign, which aims to make on-trade employees more aware of the financial aid available to them through The BEN.
BEN CEO, Chris Gardner, said, “The race day is always a fantastic event and one of the most popular in our calendar. Our guests’ generosity is extremely appreciated as the money raised will have a significantly positive impact on many lives.
“We also hope it will help us support more people through our recently launched Glass Half Full campaign which is encouraging potential beneficiaries from across Scotland to get in touch and discuss possible financial aid.”
