A Game of Thrones themed pop-up bar called Blood & Wine has opened in the cellar of the medieval-looking Daylight Robbery on Dublin Street in Edinburgh.
The 100 capacity concept bar is open every Wednesday and Thursday night until the end of February and is run by events company Geek Social.
It serves drinks from George RR Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series, including Fire Wine (a blend of white wine, dragon pepper, tomato, and chilli), alongside a range of wines, spirits and ales supplied by Royal Mile Whiskies, plus homemade ‘Frey Pies’ and Sansa’s Lemon Cakes.

The tavern has been decorated in great detail with props such as broadswords, shields and suits of armour sourced from Edinburgh sword shop, the Knights Vault.
Linden Wilkinson, of Geek Social, said, “Edinburgh is the ideal place for this and our venue already looks like something straight out of Westeros!
“George RR Martin is even said to have been inspired by a story about the history of Edinburgh Castle for the Red Wedding storyline, so it’s such a good match.”

He added, “Everything we’re serving is taken from A Song of Ice and Fire, including Dornish wine, Arbor gold, and The Old Bear’s Hot Spiced Wine.”
Geek Social has more pop-ups planned for Edinburgh, with future themes including Harry Potter, Stranger Things and The Walking Dead.
