Caledonia Best invites pub-goers to ‘Scrum and Have a Try’

Caledonia Best is giving pub-goers the chance to tackle a free pint to celebrate the RBS 6 Nations as part of its latest on-trade activity.

The brand will encourage fans to make the most of the rugby atmosphere with a series of in-bar events and experiential activities throughout the tournament, including an interactive scrummaging machine, Scrum and Have a Try.

The Scrum and Have a Try Machine (pictured above with former Scottish rugby player turned coach Chris Paterson) will challenge customers to win prizes including complimentary pints, branded merchandise and tickets to home Scotland fixtures.

It will tour selected on-trade premises, including the Murrayfield Hotel, Polwarth Tavern, McSorleys, The Ballroom, Constitution Bar and The Cowshed.

Outlets will also receive visibility kits including bar runners, fount wobblers, posters and drip mats.

On match days the brand will welcome fans to the Caledonia Best Up & Under Bar at BT Murrayfield, complete with appearances from current Scotland players and rugby legends.

Senior Brand Manager at Caledonia Best, Wendy Espie, said, “We’re very much looking forward to this year’s RBS 6 Nations campaign and seeing Caledonia Best drinkers enjoy the range of activity we’ve got planned for them.

“We’re sure that the Scrum and Have a Try machines are going to be a real hit with pub-goers and at BT Murrayfield.

“As a brand that is Made of Scotland, we wish the Scotland team our very best for this year’s tournament.”
