It’s the 150th birthday of Charles Rennie Mackintosh today (6th June) and Champagne Central, at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel, is celebrating with the launch of its new special edition Bouquet of Roses cocktail menu. Each cocktail is named after a different coloured rose, i.e. The Pink Rose cocktail is crafted from mixing Belvedere vodka, lemon juice, rose liqueur, rose bitters with crushed black pepper. The bar is also offering a sharing cocktail in the shape of the Rose Gold cocktail which is a twist on the classic old-fashioned.
Scott Kerr, Champagne Central bar manager, and cocktail creator, said, “When creating the Bouquet of Roses cocktail menu, my main and most obvious inspiration was Mackintosh’s classic rose motif, easily one of his best-loved designs. It represents elegance, and as Champagne Central is housed within one of the most elegant historic buildings in Glasgow, so the rose motif seemed to perfectly reflect the beauty of The Grand Central Hotel.”
