It’s not a club, but it’s not a bar either…Edinburgh’s first ever ‘3am hang-out’, 4042, has now launched where the old Citrus Club used to be on Grindlay Street. It is a totally new concept for Edinburgh’s night scene, brought over from LA by the cities own DJ Prospect alongside former General Manager for Montpeliers’ Candy Bar, Shandy Martin. Opening daily from 5pm until 3am, what starts as a casual drinking spot for after-work drinkers later starts to turn into more of a club vibe with ping-pong tables and DJ’s playing.
Shandy said, “It offers a great alternative to going to your usual clubs till 3am We’ve got a good few additions we aren’t announcing yet which will make the place real fun. We really want 4042 to be a cool spot to hang out all night, a place you don’t want to move on from or need to arrive at the right time to experience it at its best.”
DJ Prospect has supported the likes of Eminem, Drake and Snoop Dogg around the world. Prospect said: “We have something cooking with Radio 1’s Charlie Sloth in June and a huge announcement to make for the Festival in August. There’s loads being planned, so it’s a pretty exciting time.”
