As my local MSP, I’m writing to make you aware of the crippling rates bills that myself and others in the hospitality industry are footing.
The rises we have seen are just not sustainable. Unlike other businesses, rateable value in hospitality is based on turnover with no account taken of our operating costs.
Therefore we are seeking an urgent review of the current method of evaluating licensed trade rates and we are also seeking a freeze on any further rises.
