Restaurateur Marco Mozzachiodi has re-opened his Italian restaurant, Viva, on Glasgow’s Bothwell Street, after a £150k refurbishment. It’s the first time Mr Mozzachiodi, who also owns the city’s Italian Kitchen, has refurbished the restaurant since he acquired it in 2005.
He told DRAM, “We closed for eight days earlier in January and this is the first time we’ve made changes to the restaurant and the results of the refurbishment is that it’s a lot lighter and airier. While the outside of the building remains the same, inside the main area we have a brand new feature wall, we’ve also brightened up the rest of the walls, altered the bar, re-cladding it in reclaimed wood, plus we’ve re-upholstered all the fixed seating, installed new lights and upped the covers to 156.”
He continued, “We’ve also changed the layout in the back room with new fixed seating area, plus we have also made this area more conducive to tables of two and four.”
