The Glasgow Cocktail Collective (GCC), a new initiative aimed at supporting the hospitality industry, is looking for Glasgow bars and drinks brands to join in. Founding members include cocktail bars Vodka Wodka, Blue Dog, the Kelvingrove Cafe, Redmonds and Phillies of Shawlands and now founder Fraser McIlwraith is looking for more bars to get involved and brands too.
Fraser explains, “Glasgow lockdowners can now enjoy their favourite cocktails from Glasgow’s best cocktail bars delivered straight to their door with this new initiative. Our aim is to keep Glasgow’s cocktail culture alive during lockdown and at the same time help provide an income stream for bars which have been devastated by the Corona-19 lockdown.”
He continues, “We have set up a process where Dark Art Drinks bottles and batches each bar’s two best-selling cocktails (in a safe and sanitary way) and then we deliver them chilled straight to our customers door, complete with ice and garnish. This means your bar can still sell drinks while the whole team is furloughed, as we do it all for you.”
“The whole process is contactless with cocktail lovers able to order via our website and App, and the best part is you can mix and match between any bar and they will be delivered at the same time on the same day. So it’s perfect if you are planning a Zoom or Houseparty with your friends.”
“We hope many more bars will come on board and we hope their loyal regular customers will support the bars they love. We want to deliver something special (originating from the bar they miss) into their homes and can same day deliver to most addresses in Glasgow`.” You order at: www.thebevystore.online
He continues, “The aim of this Collective is to help the whole trade in Glasgow, and we buy all our stock from local sources and wholesalers, so any money is distributed back to local businesses and families.”
“Our short-term aim is to keep the bar and its drinks in people’s minds by delivering to their homes while they are locked down and our longer-term objective is to arm the businesses with enough cash to finance their re-launch. (Once it is safe to do so).
“However, beyond the re-opening of bars and restaurants, we intend to keep this platform going in order to supplement the expected reduction in income that the social distancing will effect. Cocktail home delivery could become the new norm.”
The Glasgow Collective will also be creating a weekly brand sponsored cocktails with all the proceeds going to the BEN – the licensed trade charity.
