Innis & Gunn has applied to Edinburgh city council to refurbish and re-open the former Finn and Bear cafe on The Shore in Leith (pictured) as a Taproom. With Taprooms in Edinburgh’s Lothian Road, Dundee’s Tay Street and Glasgow’s Ashton Lane, this will bring Innis & Gunn’s Scottish pub estate to four.

The planning documents said, “The proposed alterations are minimal, appropriate to the building, its use and the surrounding area and proposed additional signage is of quality construction, as such we consider that the alterations proposed will not significantly alter the character of the listed building. It is requested that the application be granted.”

Innis & Gunn submitted plans for its new brewery at Heriot-Watt University’s Research Park in west Edinburgh in May.
