The Kirkhouse Bar & Kitchen in Shettleston, Glasgow has closed for a deep clean after a customer who visited last Thursday, 13th August, tested positive for Covid-19.
A statement from the bar, which is run by Frank and Sylvia Healy, said, ‘We would like to notify customers that we have been informed today that a customer who visited us last Thursday evening has tested positive for Covid19. We are contacting the relevant party to inform them of the situation and to contact the government track and trace program.
‘As such, although the guidelines state we do not need to close the premises, we have taken the decision to temporarily close in order to deep clean the bar in full and have our staff tested. We are awaiting further communication from the council and will take any further action necessary, based on their feedback.’
The bar aims to reopen at the weekend if all staff tests come back negative.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh’s Bon Vivant closed yesterday after a one person in couple who were in the bar last Friday 14th August tested positive. The bar is expected to be closed for two days for a deep clean.
