Nicola Sturgeon is expected to announce further COVID-19 restrictions later today including curfews for pubs and restaurants following a Cobra meeting with Boris Johnson to stop the spread of the virus. A 10pm curfew on pubs, bars and restaurants will come into force in England on Thursday 24th September.
She will address the Scottish parliament at 2.20 pm and make a TV address on the BBC at 8.05pm.
Downing Street confirmed on Monday night that Boris Johnson had spoken on the phone to the first ministers of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and that they had all agreed to act “with a united approach, as much as possible, in the days and weeks ahead.”
Also anticipated in today’s announcement from the First Minister are further restrictions on household gatherings and on travel.
