The New World Trading Company (NWTC) is believed to be looking to make its Scottish debut by opening its The Botanist brand at the proposed St Andrew’s Hall conversion next to Edinburgh’s St James centre.

Developers intend to create a new pub and restaurant at St Andrew’s Hall, and The City of Edinburgh Council validated the proposal from developers Nuveen Real Estate earlier this month and a final decision is expected in the coming weeks.

It is understood NWTC has been lined up as the operator for the property if the conversion is approved.

The Botanist is in 22 cities across England and Wales in including Coventry (pictured) and Cardiff.
