To celebrate The 150th Open Championship at St Andrews, which starts today and is exclusively live on Sky Sports this weekend, former professional golfer and Sky Sports presenter, Nick Dougherty, paid a visit to three pubs that will be in the thick of this weekend’s action.

The Jigger Inn, otherwise known as the most famous 19th hole in golf; The Dunvegan Inn and The Keys Bar, one of the oldest bars in St Andrews which offers over 300 whiskies, will all be expecting a boost to their business as golf and sports fans descend on the Scottish town.

Chatting to the licensees of these pubs, Nick finds out what makes their pubs so special, not just to the visiting fans, who come back time after time, but to their local communities too.
The five-minute film is part of Sky’s Everyone Loves A Local campaign which shines a spotlight on local pubs and bars through the love of sport, and uses Sky’s media reach to raise awareness far and wide. The short film will be shown throughout the weekend on Sky Sports News and will be promoted via Sky Sports’ social channels.

Coverage from The Open will be shown on Sky Sports The Open, a dedicated channel to the tournament which will show over 80 hours of live coverage from the iconic Old Course at St Andrews, more than ever before, with live programming on all seven days of tournament week.
