Fraser McIlwraith is flying to Iceland tomorrow (Friday 12th) to take part in a charity challenge – Iceland Coast to Coast – for Children with Cancer UK and he is looking for hospitality colleagues to back the challenge to raise for the charity.

Fraser,  whose business interests include Vodka Vodka, Dark Art Drinks and Hospo, and Liquid Oats,  and three other friends are taking part in the multi-sport North to South crossing which sees them cross Iceland and involves covering 425KM over a period of 60 hours – they will cycle, raft and trek to complete the challenge.

They start at a lava beach at Blonduos, we will cycle inland beside the glacial river Blanda on good roads and good gravel tracks. On the first day alone they will cover 120Km and spend 12 hours in the saddle. The following day they will again cycle passing between the two icecaps of Hofsjokull and Langjokull and head towards the Kerlingarfjoll Highland mountains.

This will be followed taking rafts on the River Pjorsa, descending the river for approx. 40km (25 miles) max, including portages around waterfalls. Finishing up where the crashes over the dramatic Dynkur Foss waterfall, and then they will hit the bikes again and cycle the World-famous Laugavegur Trail.  The following day they will track 48Km.

Says Fraser, “We’re hoping to raise some money for Children with Cancer UK and have a little fun along the way:

If you would like to support their endeavours head along to .- it is for a great cause.
