Skye’s youngest hospitality owner (and one of the Skye’s only female restaurant owners), Clare Coghill, is expanding the offering of her contemporary Hebridean brunch and lunch venue, Café Cùil, when it re-opens for the new season this month.
2022 saw Café Cùil, in Carbost, bringing a laid-back, contemporary Highland menu with a slice of London’s sophisticated brunch scene to Skye. This year, diners will be able to choose from a new organic wine and cocktail menu, designed by Coghill to accompany her dishes.
After a standout first season, owner and Head Chef Clare Coghill, who returned to her native Skye from London, said of the season reopening, “The reception to Café Cùil’s first season on my home turf was so great. I feel passionately about elevating what diners think they can expect from a café, with sophisticated, yet laid-back dishes inspired by local produce. I’m really looking forward to sharing our new drinks selection and pairing them with our new dishes. It’s going to be a great year!”
