Roxy Leisure Ltd, which has 17 venues across the UK, has received approval from Glasgow’s council planners to open a new bar on Argyle Street on the site previously occupied by a JJB Sports shop which has been vacant for several years. It aims to transform the empty basement space into a top-tier gaming venue, creating 25 job opportunities in the process.The company already operates the ten pin bowling and games bar, Roxy Lanes, in Edinburgh.
Targeting the 25 to 40 year old age group, and called Roxy Ball Rooms, it will offer a combination of social gaming, dining, and drinks with activities ranging from pool, basketball, shuffleboard, and ping pong.
The approved operating hours for the new venue are from 11am to 1.30am from Sunday to Wednesday, 11am to 2.30am on Thursday, and 11am to 3.30am on Friday and Saturday.
