Golf legend Tiger Woods and music icon Justin Timberlake have unveiled plans to launch a new upscale sports bar, T-Squared Social, in St. Andrew close to the Old Course. Part-restaurant, and part-indoor sports hangout, the announcement follows the recent opening of their inaugural T-Squared Social in Midtown Manhattan.
The St. Andrews T-Squared Social will be their second venture and is set to feature Full Swing golf simulators, duckpin bowling lanes, darts, and offer a menu of craft cocktails and traditional dishes. The aim is to service both visitors and the local community and Woods said, “We all wanted to bring our T-Squared Social concept here to add to the local community and be a welcoming place for those living in St. Andrews and for visitors alike.”
Housed in the historic New Picture House Cinema on North Street, the 90-year-old triplex theatre will see significant renovations to meet the needs of the new bar including keeping one of the main movie screens for film viewings and live sports broadcasts.
A collaboration between Woods, Timberlake, NEXUS Luxury Collection, and 8AM Golf, T-Squared Social says that it is offering a unique addition to the growing golf entertainment sector, combining dining with indoor sports activities, and catering to golf enthusiasts and sports fans across the age range.
Both Woods and Timberlake have a special connection to St. Andrews. Woods clinched two of his 15 major titles at the Old Course, while Timberlake frequently visits and has participated in the annual Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and has been actively investing in the sport, collaborating closely with 8AM Golf on various golf-centric projects.
The idea for T-Squared Social was inspired by a golf game between Woods and Timberlake in the Bahamas and the name itself is a nod both Woods and Timberlake’s names.
