King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut is celebrating after reaching 61 in the charts for world ticket sales in the Pollstar International Charts.

The ranking is even more impressive considering that many venues listed in the same category boast capacities of over 2,000 compared to King Tut’s modest 300 capacity. Only two other UK ‘club’ venues surpass King Tut’s position, with the Barrowland being one of them.

King Tut’s also secured 121st ranking in the total Gross ticket sales. A noteworthy achievement given that the venue also supports and nurtures local talent through artist showcases that carry affordable ticket prices. This has meant that, over the years, it has played a pivotal role in launching the careers of Scottish artists, including Paolo Nutini, Biffy Clyro, Calvin Harris, Amy MacDonald, Lewis Capaldi, Gerry Cinnamon, and The Snuts.

Geoff Ellis, CEO of DF Concerts & Events, who own and operate King Tut’s said, “The commitment to maintaining King Tut’s as one of the world’s premier launch pad venues remains unwavering. As radio broadcaster Steve Lamacq aptly put it, King Tut’s continues to be the best launch pad venue in the world.

“This latest achievement is a testament to the enduring appeal and influence of the venue in the music industry and, as the venue enters the future, it does so with the same determination and enthusiasm that have made it an essential part of Scotland’s musical heritage.”
