The inaugural Glasgow Food & Drink Month takes place in April and includes Glasgow Restaurant Week, which runs from the 11–18th of April, and Glasgow Cocktail Week from the 19-28th April.
The first event of the month is Glasgow Food And Drink Market which takes place on the 6th of April at Princes Square Courtyard and will showcase a variety of local and Scottish produce.
Glasgow Restaurant Week is organised by Experience Glasgow Food & Drink the campaign aims to generate footfall, local restaurant bookings and getting people to support their local neighbourhood businesses. The event is supported funds Scotland Food & Drink’s Regional Food Fund and offers diners discounts across the city in the form of set price menus at £10, £15, £25 or a tasting menu.
The week kicks off with a special event at Mamasan featuring head chef, Finn Steel-Perkins and Great British Menu star, Ali Borer but will also feature more than 50 venues from all over the city. These include Eusebi Deli, Celentano’s, Café Andaluz, Ka Pao, Van Winkle, West Side Tavern and Ubiquitous Chip to name a few.
Speaking about collaborative opportunities, Anh Nguyen, Experience Glasgow Food & Drink Lead and Glasgow Food & Drink Month Organiser, said, “We’re excited to be launching the city’s first Restaurant Week part of Glasgow Food & Drink Month and overwhelmed with the response from the local businesses who want to get involved. This is a city-wide celebration of our wonderful food and drink scene – we want everyone to get out to either try something new or visit their favourite place.”
