RUMI, a new Turkish restaurant and bar, is set to open its doors in Glasgow’s Hope Street next month.

It is the first venture of Turkey native, Zafer, who moved to Glasgow in 2007. Since then, he has been working in hotels and bars across the city, and says that it has been his dream to share the flavours of his homeland.

Named after the 13th-century Persian poet and mystic, Rumi, the restaurant aims to broaden the selection of Turkish food available in the city. As well as kebabs, it will offer authentic seafood, aromatic stews, as Turkish starter and small-plate mezes, along with classic desserts.

Zafer said, “We are thrilled to introduce RUMI to the vibrant food scene of Glasgow. Our mission is to offer a truly authentic Turkish dining experience, where guests can savor the flavours of Turkey while immersing themselves in the rich tapestry of Turkish culture.”
