Edinburgh Food Festival announces programme for 10th anniversary edition

The Edinburgh Food Festival has announced the programme for its 10th anniversary edition set to take place in Assembly George Square Gardens in July.

It kicks off with the 15th annual Scottish Street Food Awards on July 19 where 9 mobile kitchen teams will battle it out for a place in the British Street Food Finals and serve up their very best menus to be considered for the all-important People’s Choice Award. Teams tsking part include Steam Bunny, Knights Kitchen, and Pitt Beef Boys.

Edinburgh Food Social also returns to the Tree House Kitchen. The social enterprise will run three workshops looking at Family Feasts, Conscious Cooking, and Fun with Flour, a hands-on demonstration in pasta making. The Tree House Kitchen will also be hosting a series of live demonstrations and panel talks with MasterChef 2022 Finalist Sarah Rankin and the team from Butchery @ Bowhouse will be in residence with two butchery demonstrations and Edinburgh brewery Vault City will deliver an introduction to the world of sours with a guided tasting of some of their most unique brews. Meanwhile South Loch Gin distillery will be joined by industry peers from across the country to discuss the future of one of Scotland’s most prolific artisan products.

The second weekend of the festival will host the producers’ market, with stalls offering everything from hot sauce to coffee beans. As well as Butchery @ Bowhouse, South Loch Gin, and Vault City, Edinburgh locals Baby Faced Baker and Lady and the Bear will also be in attendance.

Other businesss taking part include  Heriot Hott Sauces andEverything Chilli, Aberdeen-based Succulento,, Ride & Grind and Bambú, Chardon Macaron, Chock Shop, Seabuckthorn Scotland, Quas Drinks.
