A new Indian bar kitchen is expected to open soon in Bruntsfield Place in what was The Chop House which closed in June. Signage is already up bearing the name Singh Street with their new instagram account bearing the saying “From hand to Heart, from our family to yours, sit down friend, meals taste better together”.

The previous owners still have the Chop House in Market Place which is going strong and, before they left, they wished the new owners of the Bruntsfield location much success

Meanwhile, also in Edinburgh Old Pal’s is a ‘contemporary neighbourhood cocktail bar” which has opened in the former Mercat Bar in the city’s West end. Owner Ben Greig only took over the premises a month ago before refurbing and opening the doors for a soft launch this week.

Still in Edinburgh, and this time joining an existing venue, sandwhich experts King of Feasts is opening in a second outlet as it gets ready to start serving it’s fully loaded sandwiches and a wider selection of plates and bar snacks at the Mother Superior Bar on Leith Walk – which celebrated its 4th birthday at the end of July. It means, as King of Feasts point out, that they will now be located on “both sides of the city.”
