Derby Lane Finnieston, on Glasgow’s Argyle Street, has introduced a new basement drinks spot called The Down Low which they believe is the world’s first 2D speakeasy.
The new unique cocktail experience, 2DL, is inspired by the 2D cafes of South Korea which “showcase a Japanese cell-shaded art style.”
The interior, designed by a local Glasgow artist, features a blend of bold monochromatic design and 2D illusions. With ultraviolet lighting, intimate seating, and live music all weekend. The theme of The Down Low will not be a permanent addition and, after four months, the space will be transformed once more to a brand-new theme.
