Somewhere by Nico, which has venues in Glasgow and Edniburgh, is re-focusing its offering and had decided to concentrate on its cocktail menu rather than on food although it will still be offering snack pairings and an aperitif.

Nico Simeone explained, ”We created Somewhere by Nico out of a passion for crafting experiences that inspire connection, unity, and inclusion. Building upon the same foundations and ethos as Six by Nico, we aimed to incorporate the qualities that make us unique, such as a theme that changes every six weeks and an accessible fixed price point. However, with Somewhere, we wanted to go a step further by drawing inspiration from new and novel worlds through the art of multi-sensory mixology and cocktails.

“Our goal is to be known as the most extraordinary cocktail bar and venue, offering a unique and immersive experience like no other.

“Since launching Somewhere by Nico, I’ve felt that our proposition has become unclear. Our focus shifted more towards food, which unfortunately affected our cocktail creativity and consistency. For this, I sincerely apologise. To realign with our mission, we’ve decided that the future of the brand will be dedicated solely to curating and delivering the best cocktail-only experience.

“I couldn’t think of a better way to bring this vision to life than with our next theme—Murder on the Midnight Express. We’ve spent months collaborating with game designers and experts from around the world, rigorously testing and refining every detail to create an unparalleled adventure.”

Launching on 16 October, and teasing under the strapline “Step aboard the Midnight Express” the brand is takes the cocktail menu into the field of the immersive experience with a murder-mystery whodunit where the cocktails deliver the clues to help guests solve the mysterious case of Chef Gustave Laroch.

Five cocktails have been designed by their mixologist to “immerse you in a blood curdling tale of foul play, where you’ll stumble across evidence hidden beneath extraordinary flavours. Step aboard the Midnight Express and leave reality behind for two thrilling hours. Hear from witnesses and join the dots to unravel the mystery.”

Murder on the Midnight Express runs until the end November 24 and guests are being are provided with preliminary case details and instructions before the event.
