Ardnamurchan Distillery is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the launch of its ten-year-old Ardnamurchan Single Malt.

The unpeated ten-year-old is bottled at 50% ABV and non-chill-filtered. While the entire bottling is made up of unpeated distillate matured in first-fill bourbon casks, roughly half of the batch was finished for over a year in Champagne Paul Launois barriques.

Alex Bruce, Managing Director said, “For over two years there has been a virtual ‘Do not touch’ sign on just about every cask filled from 2014 to 2016 (with a few exceptions).

“This is part of our own preservation order to allow for longer aging of stock for future releases, but it has also meant that we haven’t been looking at the evolution of the older stock.

“When we started to sample the early 2014s for the 10 year anniversary release we were genuinely amazed by the whole new set of flavours emerging.

“This is a proper grown-up whisky, waxy, fruity, complex and evolving, and I am unbelievably proud of it. We look forward to sharing this exceptional dram with whisky enthusiasts around the world.”

Established in 2014 by independent bottler Adelphi, the distillery which uses traditional distilling methods with eco-friendly practices, has been steadily growing market share of its peated and unpeated range. This release will be available in most international markets currently stocking Ardnamurchan’s core range, as well as in specialist shops across the UK, from the end of October with a RRP of £65.
