Edinburgh’s seafood restaurant, Dulse, part of the Dean Banks Group, is set to launch a second location on the shores of Leith next week. The expansion follows a record-breaking year for the original Dulse in Edinburgh’s West End, which has become a favourite among locals and visitors.
The decision to open a new branch in Leith was largely inspired by the success of the group’s summer seafood pop-up, Plaice, which highlighted the community’s enthusiasm for “casual, approachable dining experiences”. Building on this, Dulse Leith will embody a relaxed, community-focused atmosphere designed for people to come together, enjoy a meal, or share drinks with friends.
Continuing the brand’s commitment to seasonality and the finest local ingredients through its partnerships with independent suppliers the new location will uphold Dulse’s reputation for fresh, traceable dishes that celebrate Scotland’s rich culinary heritage.
CEO Dean Banks said, “After our Plaice pop-up this summer was a huge success, it showed us that there was a real demand for quality seafood that’s locally sourced and affordable. The support we received from the community was overwhelming and made it clear that opening a second Dulse was the right move.
“We’re excited to bring top-tier Scottish seafood back to the port neighbourhood of Leith, and we look forward to welcoming guests back to enjoy our fresh seafood in a relaxed setting.”
