A new Champagne and wine bar called Cuvée is set to open in Glasgow’s West End later this month, bringing a continental flavour to the city’s drinks scene.
The venue, located upstairs from The Drake at 1 Lynedoch Street and next door to cocktail bar Rascal, is the latest opening from Merchant Pubs and Bars – the group behind The Drake, Rascal’s, Blackfriars of Bell St and BAaD – Barras Art & Design.
With interest in sparkling wines and Champagnes by the glass increasing across the group’s venues, Cuvée will double down on that trend with a dedicated list of premium pours alongside a cocktail offering.
The 30-cover bar is has been designed to evoke the feel of a classic city drawing room. Original period features remain, complemented by vintage-style murals, mirrors and a muted palette with pink and green accents. Subtle Art-Deco details and Parisian influences reflect the bar’s European leanings.
Courtney Flynn, Head of Sales, PR and Comms at Merchant Pubs and Bars, said, “There’s a real gap in the market for a bar like Cuvée. We’ve experienced a growing interest in Champagnes and sparkling wines by the glass across our other venues. 1 Lynedoch Street is the perfect location for it, and we are thrilled to be working closely with LVMH on bringing the best Champagne and wines to a new premium venue in Glasgow.”
In partnership with LVMH, the drinks list will include a rotating selection of Champagnes available by the glass, alongside Crémant, sparkling wines, and alcohol-free options.
Gemma Allan, Regional Sales Manager for Möet Hennessey, LVMH, said, “We are thrilled to partner with Cuvée in Glasgow to bring a new and exciting Champagne experience to the city. Our collaboration allows us to showcase an extensive selection of our most prestigious Champagnes by the glass… Cuvée is set to become a premier destination for Champagne lovers and those seeking a sophisticated and memorable evening.”
On the food front, the menu will focus on small plates and sharing options, including cheese and charcuterie boards with produce sourced from local suppliers.
Cuvée will open later this month.
