Following the announcement of a new-build distillery and visitor centre in Luss, due to open in June 2025, Loch Lomond Group has confirmed its acquisition of the New York Distilling Company (NYDC) and its associated brands. The move marks the company’s entry into the American Whiskey market and further strengthens its expanding portfolio of premium spirits.
The Brooklyn-based NYDC produces a range of American Whiskey expressions, with its flagship Jaywalk Rye Whiskey at the core. Each release in the Jaywalk line is produced using Horton Heirloom Rye, an historic grain first brought to America in the 17th century and once widely used in the New York area. Revived from just ten seeds obtained from Cornell University’s seed bank in 2015, the grain has been reintroduced through dedicated cultivation in Seneca Falls, New York, and now forms the backbone of the Jaywalk series.
The acquisition sees Jaywalk join a roster of spirits under the Loch Lomond banner, including Loch Lomond Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Glen Scotia, Littlemill, Glen’s Vodka, Ben Lomond Gin and Champagne Piaff.
In addition to its rye range, NYDC’s portfolio includes Mister Katz’s Rock & Rye, Dorothy Parker Gin, and Perry Tot’s Navy Strength Gin—brands that draw on the energy and creativity of their Brooklyn roots.
This latest acquisition adds a new dimension to its Loch Lomond, opening the door to new audiences through the growing interest in American craft whiskey.
