The Glasgow Distillery, one of the few in Scotland with an on-site cooper, has launched a dedicated visitor experience, opening its Hillington site to the public for the first time since operations began in 2012.

The move signals a new phase for the business, which was the first independent single malt whisky distillery to open in Glasgow in over a century. The Glasgow Distillery Experience offers guided access to the production facility, a live coopering demonstration and tasting sessions led by the distillery team, along with insight into the distillery’s product development process.

Mike Hayward, founder of The Glasgow Distillery, said, “This isn’t a polished visitor centre. We’re bringing guests into a live working distillery. They’ll see the lab where we develop new releases, meet the team, and taste directly from the cask. It’s an opportunity to understand how we work and what sets us apart.”

The launch follows a strong year for the business, which recently released its first 10-Year-Old single malt, Glasgow 1770, and sold out a commemorative bottling in under 20 minutes.
