The Loggie Baird, a well-known former pub in the heart of Helensburgh which closed in 2022, has been bought by Amber Taverns, marking the pub group’s 13th site in Scotland.

Located on James Street in the town centre, the building is a long-established part of Helensburgh’s leisure scene and previously operated as a cinema until the mid-1980s. Amber Taverns now intends to refurbish and reopen the site in the near future.

Sam Frankland, Property Director at Amber Taverns, said, “Helensburgh will be Amber Taverns’ 13th site in Scotland, and we plan to expand further over the next few years. We trade from over 180 pubs across the UK, and Scotland remains a key focus for us. New openings have included Motherwell and Airdrie, with Bathgate due to open its doors in September. We continue to seek new opportunities across the UK.”

The sale was handled by Christie & Co. and Tony Spence, Associate Director, managed the process on behalf of the sellers. He said, “We are delighted to have acted on behalf of the former owners. The property will now receive a full refurbishment before reopening with a fantastic new offering for the community and visitors to Helensburgh. It is always extra special when a vacant property is brought back to life.”
