Restaurateur Stefano Pieraccini of The Rocca Group has taken up a new role as Commercial Director at Edinburgh City Football Club. The newly created position will see him lead on all aspects of the League Two club’s commercial operations, including sponsorship, partnerships, supporter engagement and long-term business planning.
Pieraccini, known for his hospitality ventures across Edinburgh and St Andrews, will continue in his role at The Rocca Group while supporting the club’s ambitions to build stronger ties with the local business community and grow its off-pitch revenue.
A Scots-Italian entrepreneur, Pieraccini is returning to familiar ground. Early in his career, he worked in marketing at the Football Association in London before moving back to Scotland to develop his restaurant group, which includes Café Calton, The Broughton, and The Seafood Ristorante.
“Everyone I have met at Edinburgh City FC over the past few weeks has been outstanding,” said Pieraccini. “It’s clear the club is built on dedication, unity, and genuine support. I’m excited to contribute by working closely with our partners, supporters, and the wider Edinburgh community to help strengthen the club’s commercial foundations for the future and add value wherever possible.”
Welcoming the appointment, Edinburgh City FC Chairman John Dickson said, “I am delighted to welcome Stefano, and I am sure he will be a tremendous addition to our club. Stefano brings exceptional experience across business, partnerships, brands and media. I am excited to have someone with such high level skill sets on board, who can help us achieve our commercial objectives.”
Pieraccini’s appointment signals the start of a new phase for the club as it looks to expand its commercial activity and deepen its local reach, with work already underway ahead of the new year.
