Onde, a new champagne and seafood restaurant from chef Chris Spence is opening at the beginning of April in Largs. it takes over the site previously occupied by Tony Macaroni within the iconic Nardini’s building on the seafront.

Onde takes its name from the Italian word for waves, to reflect the point at which the Firth of Clyde meets the Ayrshire coast, and the menu is built around these coastal waters and towns.

It will feature daily seafood from local boats and west coast suppliers, changing regularly to reflect the season. Hand-made pasta with dishes including lobster ravioli, crab linguine as well as Cumbrae rock oysters, langoustines on ice and whole wood-roasted sea bream all feature among the wider menu.

With a nod to Nardini’s itself, Onde includes a Nardini Knickerbocker Glory on the desserts list.

Onde by Chris Spence is due to open on April 3.
