Jamie’s Italian has just opened in Edinburgh’s historic Assembly Rooms. The 18-month project to restore Assembly Rooms to its former glory completed on 15th July, and Jamie’s now occupies three rooms, and seats up to 196 guests. the restaurant’s designers have retained many original features, but will also be adding some magic, including an “antipasti island” and a dramatic open kitchen. On opening Jamie Oliver said, “I’m massively excited about the Edinburgh restaurant. It’s a beautiful, historic building and I just know we’re going to absolutely bring something special to the city. I’ve wanted to open Jamie’s Italian in Edinburgh for such a long time and finally it’s happening.”
