Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is celebrating scooping a gold award in the inaugural International Spirits Challenge Tourism Awards. The International Spirits Challenge, in its 25th year, has this year introduced the ISC Tourism Awards to recognise innovation and excellence among global distilleries.
Said the judges, “Turning a distillery into an attractive long-term tourist attraction requires innovation, strategy and investment. We searched for the best establishments that successfully deliver an interesting, education and commercially profitable tourism experience to consumers.
Glengoyne’s rural distillery provides visitors with a magnificent experience set against a truly beautiful backdrop. It is a credit to the region, but it has also refused to rest on its laurels and continues to innovate and improve.”
Stuart Hendry, Brand Home Director at Ian Macleod Distillers Limited, said, “Over the years, visitors from around the globe have sought out Glengoyne to experience a slower pace of life – and discover how patience and an unhurried approach can produce remarkable whisky in this charming and unique distillery.”
“We are delighted to be recognised with this prestigious new award. Following hot on the heels of ISC Golds for our Glengoyne 10, 12 and 18 Year Old, this award recognises the hard work and dedication of the team who ensure our visitors leave with a smile on their face and a deeper understanding of our unique processes, flavours, and history”.
