The Hawes Inn, the popular Queensferry pub, reopens on 10th June after a major renovation and investment creating 15 new full-time and part-time jobs.
The extensive renovation has transformed both the interior and exterior of the country pub and the new look pays homage to the traditional roots and picturesque location while also offering a bright, contemporary take on a classic country pub.
Changes include the addition of a private dining area, restyled interior, and a new garden. Along with an original new look, the relaunched Hawes Inn has introduced an all-new food offering. The pub will now offer a brunch menu and the new dinner menu will offer freshly cooked dishes including chargrilled skewers, stonebaked pizzas, steaks and roasts.
Gillian Newman, general manager at The Hawes Inn, said: “We’re working hard to create a truly unique and stimulating experience for our guests and are so excited to unveil the new Hawes Inn to the local area.
“The changes that are currently underway are all centred around creating an original country pub with a real difference. The new Hawes Inn will provide both our regulars and first-time guests with an exciting location to enjoy high-quality dining in beautiful surroundings”.
Overlooking the Fourth Bridges Viewpoint, the country pub has strong connections with, Robert Louis Stevenson, who was born in Edinburgh. It is said that Robert stayed in the Inn and wrote part of the famous novel ‘Kidnapped’ in one of the rooms, featuring a passage about The Hawes Inn.
The South Queensferry pub is currently seeking to recruit talented new team members for both front and back-of-house roles.
